please go to handcent settings>>All>>customize conversation>>you can install one template and select it as a background or click the Conversation menu and set the color, select a picture or camera a picture as a background. And set send and receive message font and background. After that click the top settings icon Save as template and name it.
If you want to see all your customized template/theme you can click the top Template icon and then click the bottom rightest menu to see all saved templates and select one to use. And go to More page of the app>>Theme>>Mine>>My customized template click conversation to delete them. And how to set the conversation list template and popup is the same way to go to its settings to create it and save and select and manage.
